Google Analytics integration
Google Analytics is a powerful platform that enables you to gather valuable data from your online store, allowing you to generate detailed reports and gain essential insights into your business operations.
By connecting Google Analytics to your TapCommerce store, you gain access to a wealth of information about how your customers discover and engage with your online store. This knowledge empowers you to optimize your business strategies and enhance the overall performance of your eCommerce activities.
To establish this connection, you will need to obtain your unique Google Analytics tracking ID. This ID serves as a key identifier that links your TapCommerce store's data with the Google Analytics platform, enabling seamless data transfer and analysis. Once you have acquired your tracking ID, you can proceed with the integration process.
Connect Google Analytics to your TapCommerce store
To connect Google Analytics to your TapCommerce store, you need your GA tracking ID ready. If you haven't created Google Analytics account, follow these steps.
To connect Google Analytics to your TapCommerce store:
Log in to your TapCommerce admin panel.
Navigate to Settings → Integrations.
Click on the Add button for Google Analytics.
On this page, paste the Measurement ID (starts with G) or the “GT-” ID (available for properties created after July, 2022).
Hit the Save button.
Done! You've connected Google Analytics with your TapCommerce Store.
Set up Google Analytics 4 for your online store (GA4 property)
Starting July 1, 2023, Universal Analytics will stop collecting data. It’s recommended that you create a Google Analytics 4 property instead. If you have your Universal Analytics (UA) property, learn how migrate to GA4.
On the Account column from the left side in Admin, selected the account. Then, in the Property column, click Create Property.
Enter a name for the property (e.g. "My Store") and select the reporting time zone and currency.
Click Next. Select your industry category and business size.
Click Next. Select how you intend to use Google Analytics.
Click Create and (if you are setting up a new account) accept the Analytics Terms of Service and the Data Processing Amendment.
Continue to Add a data stream to start collecting data.
In the Admin → Property column, click Data Streams > Add stream.
Click iOS app, Android app, or Web. In your case, select only Web for your online store.
Your Google Analytics 4 property will be named "Property - GA4 (98765432)".
Note that the first results in Google Analytics reports will appear in about 24 hours.
In case you were using Universal Analytics in your store, make sure you migrated to Google Analytics 4 and use the GA-4 ID in the Settings → Integrations → Google Analytics.

Create an Analytics account

In the "Account" column, click on the "Create Account" option. This will open the account creation wizard.
Enter a name for your account. Make sure to choose a descriptive name that will help you identify the website or business associated with this account.
Adjust the data-sharing settings according to your preferences. These settings determine what information you want to share with Google. Review the options and select the appropriate settings for your needs.
Once you've configured the data-sharing settings, click "Next" to proceed to the next step.
